Fertility Wellness with Ben Hoff L.Ac.

Current research states that acupuncture has the ability to regulate blood flow to the ovaries and uterus and lower stress hormones. There are also several studies published in the journal Fertility and Sterility that demonstrate how acupuncture, when combined with IVF, can improve pregnancy rates by 12-50% compared to higher those who did not receive acupuncture.

In addition, a review published in the December issue of the journal Complementary Therapies in Medicine, women receiving Chinese herbal medicine treatments were twice as likely to get pregnant within a four-month period than those receiving conventional Western medical fertility drug treatment or IVF.

Acupuncture and herbs help increase blood flow which boost fertility by stimulating the ovaries to produce healthy eggs as well as enriching the endometrial lining in the uterus. The rich endometrial lining helps to ensure the eggs will be held to term. Acupuncture also helps to relax the uterus and stop contractions, so blood flow increases and an embryo successfully implants.

What to expect during your first treatment with Ben Hoff L.Ac.

Your body IS fertile, but most likely there is some kind of interference that makes it difficult for you to become pregnant. If your body truly is infertile, no amount of treatment can change that condition, but these instances are rare and occur in only a small percentage of women.

Ben’s job is to figure out what those specific factors are fore each individual and to remove them. When the interference is removed, fertility is once again restored.

For your first acupuncture treatment, you will be asked in-depth questions about your health, diet, and emotional state. As well as a description of your menstrual cycles, even the state of the blood during your period.
Based on this information, Ben will form a Chinese medical diagnosis to determine where an imbalance exists in the body.
The actual acupuncture points depend on your particular pattern. Common acupuncture points on the body include the ear, head, feet, hands, legs and the abdomen.

At the end of your treatment, Ben will recommend a treatment plan that includes additional acupuncture treatments, and any herbs or dietary modifications when necessary.
